About Us

James Selvidge, Trillis Parker, a short history of the two.

"The Author and Creator" of the greatest book on Foreign Film and the history of it in the 50's and 60's. An important time that people aren't aware of.

Jim Selvidge, “The Author”, hailed from Olympia, Washington. His father, Lew Selvidge, founded the newspaper publishers association, Allied Daily Newspapers. His father was also a movie addict; and his son was hooked by age 8. Jim Selvidge was viewing ten movies per week from then on, and has seen over 30,000 to date.

Trillis Parker/Selvidge “The Creator”, is a noted author, named on NBC-TV in 1995 as the #1 expert on the “body language of the Thoroughbred.” They met in 1981 through their mutual love of horse racing, and have been together every since. TRULINE LEGACY, INC. is her publishing company.

The Ridgemont Theatre had shown close to 800 foreign films; and its sister theatre, the Edgemont, another 200 plus. Jim selected the 330 films that he felt were the greatest movies he’d shown, which he broke down to Five Star, Four Star, and Three Star ratings.

Trillis obtained color pictures of the posters that were in front of the originating nation’s theatres in their premiere debut.

The entirety of the lay-out of “Bergman, Fellini, Kurosawa: The Foreign Film In America” is Trillis’s creation; and she designed the cover.

Trillis is also a gourmet cook, who catered many of Las Vegas’s celebrities in our 18 years there, a mixed blessing per any comparing my before-and-after photos in the film book.
